The Soapberrys throw another party - this time, it's gift-giving season.
Everyone brings food for some reason.
Grandma Cadydid corners Ignacio. "Aren't you just precious?"
"Grandma please no"
Way to take one for the team, buddy.
Cotton candy-haired moms talking about their kids, no doubt.
"Are you... pregnant?" Dennis asks his sister incredulously.
"Maaaybe," Kerra answers slowly.
"Is it Malcolm's?"
"Maaaybe."

"Maaaybe."
Enough shallow plot. It's time for a gift-opening montage!
Tide was the only one who didn't like his present, the lousy ingrate.
Fantasia, please.
Dennis and Kerra's mother, Latanya, shows up an hour late.
Dennis' parents never really got along - always getting into fights in front of the grocery store, or at family-teacher conferences, or other embarrassing locations - but he still feels partial to his mother. She was there for him and Kerra despite it all.
Dennis makes sure to tell her how much he appreciated her presence in his life. He isn't sure where the sentimentality came from - maybe it was the holiday spirit.
It's a good thing he did - she died two days later.

Cadydid always stands in the back corner of the living room when the family watches TV, for some reason. She probably just likes the personal space.
The Soapberrys have a habit of walking in on robbers attempting to steal their toilets in the middle of the night.
The robber wiggles his eyebrows. "Nice hair, sweet thang."
"Get out before I pummel you into the pink and mint tiles," Melarkey snaps, trying to hide her blush behind a scowl.

Pretty kitty.
Bennet got a teddy bear for Snowflake Day, which she names Pinky.
Nothing like a birthday in your onesie.
Gorgeous.
Though Bennet is hardly artistic, she has a pension for dabbling in everything, every chance she gets, and is also a bit of a perfectionist. Ergo, color-coordinated, offbeat-fashion clothes.
But even though she now looks a bit like a doll, she still maintains her curiosity about the world.
Cadydid and Stanley.
Bennet making faces at Stanley. Poor squirrel can never catch a break.
"Mom, I want to join some school clubs," Bennet says decisively.
"That's nice," Melarkey hums. She can't fathom where her daughter got all her energy from. Melarkey had never been particularly interested in the expanded world - just her family, and Dennis, and writing mediocre books.
"I'm thinking Debate Team," Bennet muses aloud. "And a Study Group. Y'know, to keep my grades up."
"Remember to sleep at some point," says Melarkey.

"Dad, have you ever been to France?" Bennet asks over the sound of the sappy, subbed French romance film. Dennis taps his chin.
"Nope."
"Have you ever wanted to go?" Bennet presses.
"Not really."
The teen sighs and looks to her other side, where her grandmother seems perfectly content to play with the cat all day. Why does nobody else in this family seem to find Sunset Valley so boring?
//
Post Send: I love Bennet's look, and that's all I have to say.
Actually, scratch that. Here are Bennet's traits thus far: Over-Emotional, Good, Perfectionist, and Easily Impressed. Her favorites are Sushi, French Music, and Sea Foam.
