So far, Melarkey has been sticking to only consuming home-cooked, home-grown foods.
"Do you have any idea what this means?" Tide asks.
"...No," says Cadydid.
"Heh, me neither."
"...No," says Cadydid.
"Heh, me neither."
Cadydid makes mac & cheese for dinner, which Melarkey refuses to eat.
"You don't start cooking until after I've sworn myself to a paleolithic diet?" Melarkey complains. "I grew up on microwave meals and cold cereal!"

This old man has his last birthday.
There isn't enough mac & cheese for this old man. :(
Gentlemen's canes fix everything.
Time for a gift-giving party!
The guest list includes Clark Sauer, the repairman who fixed Tiberius' computer that one time. Ever since Melarkey's birthday party, the Soapberrys has been inviting him to family events.
Anlah is the next to burst through the door.
Kerra and Dennis Allocco were also invited.
This kid wasn't invited to the party, but he shows up anyway. His name is Robert Andrews.
Kerra is really pretty wow.
So. Much. Romance.
Tide should've been heir based off his cute expressions alone.
Party, start!
Tide approaches the gift pile warily.
Whatever it is, he likes it!
"I can't look." Anlah turns away dramatically.
Kerra is next.
She picks it up, looks inside, and walks away without saying a word. She and Cadydid would get along well.
Melarkey is pleasantly surprised by her gift.
Dennis selects his gift from the pile gingerly.
Clark doesn't like his gift. Oh well.
Cadydid's gift manages to make her smile. Bravo, gift-giver.
And finally, Tiberius receives an alarm clock. He accepts it politely, knowing he'll never use it.
A few of the gifts received by the Soapberry family, put to use around the house.
Immediately after the party, a limo pulls up to the front of the house to take Tide and Anlah to prom. It's cold, so they bundle up.
Dennis and Melarkey get all sickly sweet, too.
"I've got one last gift for you," Dennis says.
Wow, yay, so romantic, etc. etc.
