Tide gains life skills.
Melarkey won't stop talking to Dennis - or about him.
Anlah Haslasksla ages up into some gorgeous supermodel.
At first, Tide isn't intimidated - they're best friends, right?
But then, he realizes that he really likes her. Shoot.
Anlah calms his nerves by holding his hands.
And Tide makes really cute puppy love faces.
They decide to go steady.
Meanwhile, Melarkey and Cadydid have yet another mother-daughter fishing trip. The sky and ocean look beautiful at dusk.
Tiberius breaks the toilet and FREAKS OUT.
Now that she's dating Tide, Anlah has full access to the Soapberry bookshelf, which holds every single one of Tiberius' novels - including his latest works, The Sun Project and Poison Space - both of which are sci-fi - and Detective Melarkey and the Heartless Boy, another addition to his on-going mystery series.
The happy couple.
Another happy couple.
Homeworkin'.
Tide always has riveting conversations with Anlah.
Tiberius and Cadydid win a free vacation sweepstakes, and don't even bother to open the door before leaving.
Cadydid doesn't even bother with an umbrella.
Melarkey jumps on the opportunity to throw a party. Lorena Snow has begun snubbing her, ever since Melarkey convinced Dennis to break up with her, so Melarkey needs to make sure she stays in the good graces of the rest of her peers.
Tide is just pumped that there'll be pizza.
First, a bit of setup - apple bobbing in the kitchen, snow cones in the hall, and a deafening stereo in the living room. Everything the cool kids need.
The first teen to arrive is Candy something-field. I don't actually remember.
The second arrival is the class weird girl, who is pretty cute - in a weird girl sort of way.
The rest arrive in a mob, led by Taleah Haslaskla, Anlah's older sister and an old flirt of Dennis'.
She is closely followed by Kerra Allocco, Dennis' older sister. ((They're related, I swear.))
There's also some jock, Dennis himself, and Lorena Snow's little sister, who, just like everyone else, I forgot the name of. Apparently, she doesn't care who her sister does and doesn't like - a party's a party.
Of course, Anlah comes as well - and in the background, Malcolm Landgraab, the only boy in the school able to grow even an ounce of facial hair.
The party starts, and Melarkey and Dennis don't waste any time with the PDA. Kerra is totally grossed out; it's weird to see your younger brother making out with his pink-haired girlfriend of one week.
Tide and Anlah are a bit more modest, as well as super cute.
The basket case and the jock hit it off by the snow cone machine.
OTP. <3
Anlah forgoes the party so she can read one of Tiberius' books.
Malcolm puts the moves on Candy whatever-field.
She's into it.
Malcolm isn't the only boy making moves. Dennis presents Taleah with some flowers, to which she promptly freaks out.
"Dennis, you're dating Melarkey! And this is her party! What do you think you're doing?!"
"Dennis, you're dating Melarkey! And this is her party! What do you think you're doing?!"
He seems genuinely upset with her reaction.
The Soapberrys don't have any nearby neighbors, but someone makes a noise complaint, anyway.
The pizza arrives around the same time the cop does, but Tide only notices the pizza.
"Pizza's here!" Tide announces. Police sirens blare from outside.
"EVERYBODY OUT NOW," says Melarkey.
"EVERYBODY OUT NOW," says Melarkey.
It's a mess getting everyone out the door.
Most of them run right by the policewoman in their escape, and she just sort of lets it happen.
In the end, the party sucked, but the police left without incident, and Melarkey and Tide got a whole pizza to themselves.
"All in all, I think things turned out okay," Melarkey says. Tide wonders how to tell her about Dennis.

Tiberius and Cadydid also returned home early, and went straight to bed. Turns out their trip was more exhausting than relaxing.
"No, I didn't get arrested," Melarkey tells Dennis the next day. "But you can tell people that if it'll make me seem edgy."
